Woolen Mill Tours

We look forward to sharing the unique history and weaving process of the Amana Woolen Mill with you.

To ensure the safety of both our guests and employees, we kindly ask that you respect our team’s time and workspace. Our employees operate heavy machinery and must be able to focus at all times.

For your safety, please remain within the yellow lines and stay clear of all machinery.

Tour Scheduling

• Tours must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by calling 319-622-3432.
• Tours are available Monday–Friday from 9am–3pm only.

Group Requirements

• A minimum of 10 adults is required to schedule a tour.
• For groups larger than 20, we will divide the participants into two smaller groups.
• School groups must be accompanied by an adequate number of adults to supervise the students.

Tour Experience

Your tour will begin at Warped and Woven Mill Mercantile with a short introductory video. You’ll then learn about Amana’s rich history and the legacy of the Amana Woolen Mill before entering the mill itself.

Please note: Due to the nature of our weaving process, the looms may not be running during your visit. However, you will have the opportunity to view whatever is in progress that day.
